Love Month used to be about grand gestures, butterflies in the stomach, and the thrill of romance. But as the years pass and life unfolds, love takes on a deeper, more profound meaning.
When you get married, your prayers change. They’re no longer just about your dreams, your desires, or your well-being. They become interwoven with someone else’s. You pray for your spouse—their health, their happiness, their peace. You pray for the strength to carry them when they are weary and the grace to stand strong when they need you most. Love is no longer just about the highs; it’s about enduring the lows together.
One of the hardest things about love is watching the person you cherish suffer and knowing you would take their pain in a heartbeat if you could. You cry for them, you cry with them—but at the same time, you stand firm, because that’s what love calls you to do.
Right now, all my heart longs for is God’s complete healing for Steve. He has been through so much, and if love alone could take away his pain, I would give him all of mine. He deserves peace, comfort, and a break from all of this suffering.
This Love Month, I am reminded that love isn’t just about celebrating joy—it’s about being a refuge in the storm, a pillar of strength, and a prayer whispered in the quiet hours of the night. Because love, in its purest form, is not just about sharing a life together—it’s about carrying each other through it.
Counting days. See you again, my love
