There is a particular kind of wonder that comes from realizing your life has become the thing you once only dared to imagine. I grew up in the Philippines believing that world travel was for other people — the wealthy, the lucky, the somehow-chosen. The girl I was would not recognize the woman I have become: standing on all seven continents, circumnavigating the globe, watching sunrises in cities whose names once felt like poetry too beautiful to speak aloud.

In March 2023, I completed a lifelong dream — traveling westward around the entire world, beginning and ending in my homeland. That journey was not just about stamps in a passport. It was about proving to myself that dreams are not delusions, that the impossible is only impossible until someone does it, that the girl from the Philippines could hold the whole world in her hands.

Some people collect stamps. I collect the way light falls on foreign streets, conversations with strangers who become friends, the quiet revelation when a place shows you who it really is.

I am named after a flower — Hyacinth — and perhaps that explains my affection for blooms. I stop for them on busy streets. I photograph them in markets and gardens. They remind me that beauty exists to be noticed, that God is an artist, that even the briefest things can be the most beautiful.

I write poems because some truths are too delicate for prose. I take photographs because some moments are too fleeting for memory alone. I build marketing strategies because I believe business can be both effective and beautiful, both profitable and purposeful.
