A Quiet Prayer for Ambitious Women

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Colossians 3:23

To the women who dream big and work hard, who carry both ambition and faith, who sometimes wonder if they're allowed to want more—this is for you.

There is nothing ungodly about ambition. The woman in Proverbs 31 was an entrepreneur, a leader, a creator. She worked with eager hands and planted vineyards. She was not small to make others comfortable.

But I know the tension. The wondering if you're too much, too driven, too focused on earthly success when you should be content with heavenly rewards. The questioning of whether your ambition comes from God or from ego.

Here's what I've learned: the question is not whether to be ambitious, but who you are ambitious for. When your work is an offering, when your success is a platform for His glory, when your striving is ultimately surrender—ambition becomes worship.

This verse in Colossians reframes everything. Work with all your heart, not for human approval or worldly validation, but as if you're working for the Lord. Because you are.

Ambitious women, you are not too much. Your drive is not a character flaw. Your excellence honors God when it flows from a heart that is His.

Dream big. Work hard. Stay soft. Keep praying. The world needs what you're building.

A Prayer

Lord, sanctify my ambition. Help me to work with excellence while holding success loosely. May my striving bring glory to You, not just achievement for me. Use my work for Your purposes. Amen.
