My Experience
Walking through Palestine was walking through layers of history—Biblical, ancient, and heartbreakingly present. I visited Abu Dis, Bethany, Jericho, and other places that have shaped faith and history for thousands of years.
Bethany, where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, moved me deeply. Standing in the place where such a miracle occurred, the stories I had read my whole life became viscerally real.
Jericho, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, offered a glimpse into history that stretches back 10,000 years. The Mount of Temptation loomed above, and I could imagine the weight of those 40 days in the wilderness.
What struck me most was the resilience and hospitality of the Palestinian people. Despite everything, they welcomed me with open arms, shared their stories, and offered tea and kindness at every turn.
